Together, we raised an incredible $49,605 to support undocumented migrants in New Haven. For our coming cohort in January, we received 25 applications from undocumented women, a number we had never received before, and that we needed your help to continue serving. You made it possible for us to accept 5 applicants to our January Fellowship, giving them access to the only paid job training programs in the state of CT that openly welcomes undocumented migrants.
They will be joining 18 other participants and receiving a transformational opportunity to develop connections, skills, and strength in a safe and supportive environment. Fifi, our fellow from cohort 7, said it best: “One of the things that I am most grateful for is the liberty and generosity that I have received at Havenly. It is very important for women to be able to provide for themselves and not depend on other people. Through Havenly, we are able to achieve that, learn how to be self-sufficient, and gain skills that can enable us to move forward in whatever it is that we want to pursue.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you who donated for standing with all refugees, regardless of their status. Together, we are building a more inclusive and equitable world for all. This achievement would not have been possible without your kindness, dedication, and belief in our mission.
As we start this new year, we are reminded of the power that lies in collective action. Your ongoing support is the heartbeat of our organization, and we are immensely grateful for your contributions to our vision. We look forward to updating you on the progress of our programs, and next steps to continue supporting refugees across status and experience. Come visit our cafe to celebrate this milestone! We’d love to see you in our newly renovated space.
